Allhiker's Applause - Nola
24 July 1995- 18 February 2005
Nola, our "big nose" , was born in Addlestone. Her mother was Ebony, and her father "Webster" - Pipadene News Review. We enjoyed showing her in puppy and junior classes where she did well before dropping her coat, and then smashing out a front tooth on an energetic holiday. Nola had some character! Opening tins of human food with her teeth (after missing the front one) , sticking her nose in where it wasn't required, and peeing on our bed and not finding it, cold and wet, til bedtime...We had lots of new duvets in the loft for such occasions and it took considerable patience to cure the problem!
Unfortunately, Nola developed a spindle cell cancer on her shin front leg , and it was removed several times but it kept coming back until such time as she couldnt fight it any more. By the time the specialists recommended leg amputation, it was too late and her body was riddled with it. She never complained or showed any ill temper and wagged her way through treatments and dressing, charming all she met. She was taken over the rainbow bridge too soon and her passing left a huge hole.
Nola joined us on many of our walking holidays- pictures to be located.
